Three UCLA students -- two in the School of Theater, Film and Television and one an alumnus of the School of the Arts and Architecture -- are going home with the student Web Award at the South by Southwest (SXSW) Interactive Festival.
Their winning entry, "How do I say this?", is a digital broadband forum that offers personal advice in the form of short films. Created with input from users, the films take a sensitive look at situations like breaking up and coping with the death of a loved one.
David Harris M.F.A. '07, Dagmar Weaver-Madsen M.F.A. '07 and Aaron Koblin M.F.A. '06 created "How do I say this?" as an entry in the mtvU and Cisco Systems-sponsored competition Digital Incubator, which called for ideas and submissions in new digital media.
