UCLA
Art + Activism
Published Feb 15, 2007 11:42 AM
Professor Peter Sellars, internationally known for his productions of politically charged classical operas, theater and film, kicked off UCLA's series Art + Activism in an electrifying lecture about art, politics and making a difference. Art, Sellars said, helps people "get beyond who they think they were ... and see the world in a different way." Next in the series was AIDS educator and activist puppeteer Anarupa Roy. Presented by UCLA's School of Art and Architecture, Art + Activism continues through the spring.
