UCLA
June 11, 1965 was a banner day at UCLA. It marked the grand opening of the much-anticipated Pauley Pavilion. Finally, the Bruin basketball team could truly play at home. Coach John Wooden said the new venue made a "night and day" difference in recruiting. Over a half-century, Pauley has hosted not just championship basketball but also presidential debates, visiting dignitaries, commencement ceremonies and much more.
