From Herb Alpert and the Tijuana Brass to Sting, A&M Records has helped define American music. Its founders, Herb Alpert and Jerry Moss, helped make stars out of The Carpenters, Joe Cocker, Peter Frampton, Janet Jackson, Styx, Sergio Mendes and many others. For their efforts, the dynamic musical duo was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2006. And they donated A&M's company papers — a treasure trove of American rock and pop history — to UCLA Music Library Special Collections. Read what all the noise is about at the link below.
