Football: UCLA vs. Stanford

A year ago, the biggest task facing Head Coach Jim Mora was figuring out who would replace Brett Hundley as quarterback. Fast-forward 12 months, and the field has flipped — the one thing Mora knows for sure this time around is that sophomore Josh Rosen will play the position and lead the offense after a stellar freshman season. But the offense he leads will be brand-new. Kennedy Polamalu is the new offensive coordinator, with plans to run more of a power running game than the Bruins have used in the past few seasons. Soso Jamabo, Nate Starks and Bolu Olorunfunmi team up to replace NFL-bound Paul Perkins as the primary ball carriers, while true freshman Theo Howard is in the mix to replace Jordan Payton as Rosen’s prime target. On defense, five-star freshman Mique Juarez will compete to take Myles Jack’s snaps. The Bruins haven’t defeated Stanford in their last eight tries, so this early season match-up could set the tone for the rest of the season.

UCLA Football: Fall Practice

Inland Empire Bruins — and other SoCal Bruins who don’t mind the drive — can catch the UCLA football team as they prepare for the 2016 season during fall camp held at Cal State San Bernardino. It’s hot out there, so bring plenty of water to watch the team toughen up in the heat.

DATES AND TIMES TBA. Location: Cal State San Bernardino Campus. Admission: Free. Phone: (310) UCLA–WIN. Web: www.uclabruins.com.
