You know it as just Royce Hall. But for a few glorious moments in May, the venerable building was the canvas for a spectacle of light and sound celebrating 100 years of UCLA greatness and achievement. Thousands of students, staff, alumni and others in the Bruin family watched “Lighting the Way,” a projection show that capped a day packed with festivities kicking off the yearlong celebration of UCLA’s centennial. The projection highlighted dozens of accomplished and influential alumni, professors, leaders and coaches, spanning the 10 decades of UCLA’s history.
