  • Great article. I just joined the Companion Animal Association of Arizona as a volunteer to take my dog to meet and greet the elderly at various care centers. I had to get my dog certified for it but volunteering with my dog is very rewarding. I created a site as a way to help others train their dogs if they want to enjoy these kinds of volunteer activities as well.

  • I am a dog lover so I know the joys that a warm and loving pet can bring into a persons life. It is wonderful that people take the time (and I am sure it takes alot of time) to prepare their dogs and then take them to the hospital's to cheer these people up. I applaud them.

  • Many Thanks to the Good Dogs - My mother had a major stroke several years ago and was here at UCLA Medical. I have the pictures of her with smiles on her face with the "Therapy Dogs" - this is a great service!! Many Thanks to the Dogs and the Caretakers.

  • GREAT ARTICLE!! Wow you can see the joy and happiness these "puppies" bring. This type of therapy is worth more than medicine itself. Thank you for an enlightening story and to all the volunteers at the hospital. James
